My child has ACNE!!!!!!!!!

I had bad acne till i had children, i mean really bad. I went and had chemical peels (dont try this!!!!!) all of the steriod creams, everything and nothing helped. Once my hormones evened out it went away. I only break out if i am stressed which is a good sign to DH to start helping and back off! LOL

Ahhhh, memories!

My acne was HORRIBLE! It started at about 12 and I still find a stray pimple now and then, seven years later. Honestly, it started clearing up on its own in High School and its almost completely gone now. Its just part of growing up, his skin will be beautiful again one day.

There is a difference between a breakout of pimples and acne. I certainly hope your son is just suffering a simple outbreak. I suffered from cystic acne as a teen. It was horrible!

My jawline felt like one great big bruise. Unless you've had it, you really can't understand the physical pain. Then there's the self esteem issue. I ended up going to a dermatologist. Went once a month for liquid nitrogen treatments, was put on, get this, therapeutic Tetracycline, used Green soap and RetinA gel. Because of the Tetracycline, I had to have my blood tested every six months. Needless to say, my teen years were horrible. I wouldn't go back to that time of my life for anything!

His actually looks maybe a tiny bit better after just a couple of days with the Clearasil pads. I hope so anyway. As far as soap, I actually make our soap....yes, Lye soap, so I do know how wonderful it is.

It is funny, the kids think it is sooooooo cool that their mom makes their soap. LOL I really hope this is just a minor thing and never gets really bad. However, like I said, if it does we will go straight to the dermatologist. Not only am I not willing o make him suffer through that, I am NOT going to let that perfect face get scarred up. I really wish I could talk him into the tea tree stuff, but he is so repulsed by anything even remotely minty he just won't. I feel like it really would help. It is good to hear the "I had it and survived" and the "my kid had it and looks gorgeous again" stories!!! Thanks guys!!!

Tea tree is not minty at all. You could add it to your soap and no one would know. Many times it is added with pepermint or spearamint but you can add it with any other scent to mask it if you feel the need. You would need the good EO which is not too cheap anymore. It is the best anti everything bactrial, fungal and viral that I know of that is natural.

The pads would great but are only a quick stop messure. There is evidance they can make acne worse in the long run so should not be used all the time. If it is hormonal acne it will clear out much faster than other acne once his hormones settle down in 2 to 3 years. Could be even faster depending on how bad or not his imbalnce is, for if it is not bad body will adjust fast.

The only way you get scaring is if you have bigger acne that you pop open to drain. I would not worry about scaring.

Sounds like your son's will be able to be controled with OTC meds. I am so happy for you. I know if my son shows signs of getting it as bad as me, I will be carting him off to the dermatologist, pronto! I am very thankful that my parents took me to a dermatologist. Even for how bad my acne was, I have no scars from it.
