Underneath the mulch is a foot of hardware wire..........this is Arkansas.......snake country. I had chicken wire in the inside but just removed it. Not a good idea on the inside.

Looks like you have a nice setup there, mtnhomechick. I'm having fun with 7 hens and 1 roo! How do you handle so many of them? I know you don't do a head count like I do. lol Do you keep them all in the pen or free range?

I just love it!!! Especially the landscaping around the yard. I have flower boxes around my yard and my friends make fun of me........They just don't understand!
