It's a 5 gallon cooler from Walmart $22. a few fittings from Home Depot and 2 nipple waterer. TIP: Drill your hole in the PVC and use a lighter to soften the PVC then thread your fitting into the pipe. Cool it with water then remove it and add pipe thread compound. This is the best way with no leaks.

Yes this is where I got the idea. I changed the nipples out to the cups. I noticed the chickens spending way too much time trying to get enough water from the nipples. With the cups now in place for a month it seems more natural. They go get a drink and quickly they step away from the water.

Darn! Too far from me. I think your waterer looks like it would keep the water colder at the cups too. It is so hot here, so I usually put ice in their water. The chicken waterer that you got the idea from looks like the water in the reservoir would get hot. Anyway, I think u have an awesome set up all the way around!

Yup, it was 108 here on Saturday and the water was not hot at all. I did install a misting system on Saturday if it gets that hot again.

Wow! 108 is hot! It wasn't that hot here but close. I saw my chicks panting, which I didn't know they would do. We put up a fan for them and I put them in the sink filled with tepid water. They cooled down quickly and are doing fine. We have Golden sex links that have become our pets.

Ours are only 7 or 8 weeks old, but are super sweet.
