Would love to see what you have going on inside the coop.

Right now....absolutely nothing lmao!!! I'm repurposing some plastic supplement buckets from the cattle for the nest boxes, husbands going to build some roosting places. I'll post pictures when I get started on the inside :)

On this site with smaller coops I've noticed people really utilizing the small space they have by putting the roosts over the nesting boxes and having a poop board on top of the nests. With my chickens I've noticed that the roost area is the spot most used in the coop and that's the place where they'll truly need space i think. I've only seen them hide inside the coop during bad and windy weather. Other than that they were always scratching and hanging out in the run.

That's a really cute idea!!!!! I will pass that on. The coop is big enough for two large men to sit in since its an old deer blind. I am working on boxes today because its kinda rainy, so husband can finish it tomorrow.

All that is left is painting! Yay!

Hmm Look up Cemani chickens. That black comb makes me lean toward that breed. Gorgeous breed too :D

She is a mutt too lol. They are from the free range chickens at the place I work. But she does look like that breed! I doubt this batch will really ever produce any worth while eggs, but they were being picked on by peacocks. So they are safe here.
