My crazy looking eggs

My 5 hens are laying on avg about 3 a day. I can't figure out why I'm getting speckled eggs!

It is just the pigmentation of the egg. It can be caused by disturbances during the laying process, or excess calcium. It does not hurt the quality of the egg in any way. It happens to mine all the time. I think they are beautiful.

It'll really blow your mind when you take one of those eggs and gently scrub it with a scotch brite pad (under some water) and watch what happens!

We get a few of those a week...I think it's just their spray painter going wonky from time to time!
