My creepy Schwans man....am I just overreacting?

LOL...yes, that might work.

Actually, I wanted to casually mention my love of (and excellent ability at) shooting. However, I don't want to end up being the creepy one. LOL

I thought of this too. I know of one other woman who would be on my route with a husband who works out of town and is alone a lot. I may go ask her if she has had any issues with him first.

slam the door in his face...call the company, tell them to send out another guy...creepo!

Trust your gut on this. Its your first line of defense and its sending off warning bells! Keep a gun handy, report this to the company. If not for yourself, for someone else who may be even more harassed and vulnerable than you~I'm sure you are not the only one who has had a similar experience with this fellow. And definitely tell the company about the "shooting" statement!

I had a guy come to the house wanting apples from my orchard, said my landlord sent him. Made all sorts of weird comments(even asked if my hair color was real!), was really casing the place and even made comments about stealing my dog(supposedly kidding)! I told the landlord I didn't want him to come back here, regardless of their acquaintence. The landlord said he was "harmless" and then called me back later and told me to call the police if he showed up again because my landlord's ex-wife told him that the same man was making off-colour comments to her and her daughter also!

Trust your feelings!

For some reason I just got cold chills when I read your story.

One of my biggest flaws is I tend to trust people here more than most places. I have lived in other areas and always feel safe when I am back home in Arkansas. But I KNOW there are creeps everywhere. Also, to me, telling him when I would be buying and why made as much sense as telling my hairdresser I need to get my grey hair covered up because hubby will be home next week. I see now it was a HUGE mistake.

I have been in the market for a new gun to protect the household. My hubby would be happier if I had something more powerful than what I have now, anyway. I may go shopping.

I think the first thing I'd do is call Schwann's, cancel the contract/possible sales calls permanantly , and TELL THEM WHY. Then give a heads up call to local law enforcement. Oh, and keep the 6-shooter loaded, by the door and out of the kiddos reach. If the guy shows up again, business or not, call 911. Borrow a neighbor's car to park in your yard, and start spreading the word that DH is now home.

BTW, for anyone being harassed- documentation is your best weapon, besides videotape.

Good luck, this guy sounds a bit scary, but my money's on you!

Uhm, I never thought Schwann's food was very good anyway..........

My first thought when I read the title was "if you feel it, it's probably right on". Call SChwann's, report him and request a different driver. I love their food, but the drivers are so erratic! I now only go the guy that parks his truck on a busy corner i nthe evenings. Easier for me know I can actually get the stuff!

When my mother was newly married she lived on a farm 20 miles from the nearest neighbor. A salesman visted one day and my mother explained that she couldn't afford what he was selling. She mentioned that her husband worked in town every day, to help make payments on the farm. The next day her came back and tried to rape her. My Dad's dog, a usually docile german shepard, broke through a window and attacked the man. My Mom treated the dog like royalty for the rest of it's life.

Sorry, I don't want to make you paranoid, but please be careful. There are a lot of creeps in the world.
