My crested Maran is confusing me. 10 months and no egg!

Hi all! I bought a Cuckoo Maran and 3 Cream Legbars last October, they were in the same pen. Now I was told they were all 4/5 months old. Our Maran went broody in the autumn and sits on the nest at times now this spring, but as of yet , now March, not a single brown egg, just blue/green eggs from the Legbars! Apparently she's 10 months old now. This is confusing me! Furthermore, it appears she has a crest! Now I'm beginning to think if
she is a cream Legbar/Maran cross and in fact she's laid her 1st egg but it's actually blue/green. I'll attach a photo. Please share your thoughts on this guys! Cheers

I think you've got a crossbred hen. Unless you paid extra for her then I wouldn't worry too much about it. Colored eggs are awesome.

The reason I say crossbred Marans do not have crests.

Cheers. I think it may be the case but I hope though she is just a late layer and will pop out a Choco egg soon. But if she was a cross wouldnt her colour pattern be different? She looks an awful lot like a Maran.

Hey, I know this is kind of late (5 years lol), but I have a marans x cream legbar and when she laid, they were olive green eggs.
