I had a neighbour make a complaint to the health dept about my little cockerel Jerry and I had to rehome him...then my Light Brahma started crowing and that's when things got really interesting!
I had to keep her quiet or inside...so now I have spoiled housechickens...

But when Slifer went out with Obelisk, I had to muzzle her before she went...
And she was also a hen: she laid me one single baby yellow egg in all the time that I had her.

I treated Slifer with Phyto Estrogen from the health food store and Sepia from Whole Foods...I did this for a month and she toned down the crowing a little and laid her only egg, but I couldn't afford to spend $30 every month on her. At the time I wasn't working...

Wow Spotted Crow, that sounds like one heck of a soap opera you've got going there. Is it the water?

What eventually happened?

What about tofu? It supposedly has phytoestrogens in it and I can't imagine a chicken would eat $30 worth of tofu a month.
