don't be too upset...things do happen. our neighbor had THE BEST DUCK named Stewie. I really mean the best duck. She was a beloved friend (yes, SHE, they didn't know when they named her and try telling a 4 yr old she can't name it Stewie!) One day the neighbor came home and Stew did the "Flight of Furry"........right straight into the tire path. Poor guy couldn't do a thing about it. I'm sure your father feels worse than you know. As a parent, one of the worse things in the world is destroying anything your child has put heart and soul into. Let dad have a pass on this one.

I had a favorite chick like that named Zues and he died enexpectedly, so I know how you feel!
