My rant is on movies of today. The Alice in Wonderland movie stunk, all the other movies stunk, and I honestly don't have high hopes for the Tintin movie. And for the ones I want to see, aside from the Tintin movie, one is not getting an export any time at all, and the other one is actually the only one that looks good and is getting an export. *sigh*

Well... I donno about a rant per se, but a slight annoyance.

Uncle called to see if anything from the SS dept had arrived. Since his address is a homeless shelter I don't mind letting him use ours as a MAILING only address... he called at 7pm and yet again we've no mail run yet... I hate being the OT route... but my main annoyance is that here's a guy who's worked 40+ years... paid into SS.. .and now that he has several issues, won't go into it, that prevent him from doing the work he's trained to do (a/c work, in Texas heat, in attics) he is being given the run around... not to big a shock... but the fact that my sister gets put on the fast track to SS Disability when her only problem is finding childcare and an attitude when it comes to bosses "telling her what to do" thus she's never held a job (much less contributed to SS) for more than two weeks (since turning 16 nearly 9 years ago) really just burns my biscuits.

Children and attitude are NOT disabilities... they are CHOICES...

Bonus points for the fact that while living only on her DD's child support (a whopping $140/wk) she's managed to continue using drugs for the last 7 years... can't imagine how bad it will get now that she's getting TWO paychecks... as a taxpayer it just BURNS me that our money is being taken so she can support her habit... bonus that the support supposed to be used to provide a stable home for Niece and two nephews has been blown on drugs while they camp out in horrible little motels... I say horrible because anyone coming or going is subject to police harassment for SOLICITATION... so what does THAT tell you about the kind of place these kids have been stuck in?

But, that isn't just a daily rant... it's been ongoing... today's is just the slow mail and Uncle's runaround.

Ok, my rant is parents who feel the need to call me at dinner time because their child did not take their math notes home and the father thinks I should drop everything to explain to him how to do least common multiples, greatest and least common factors. Even after I tell him I'm eating dinner,, he keeps going on, how can I help him if I don't know how?? So I tell him to tell his child to take the math notebook home WITH the homework because that is where his notes and examples are. So he wants to argue but he needs to help him now. I told him to be at the school at 6am, he said he isn't up then, and I said well get up then because I just gave up my dinner for you!
