Thank you XVBarker
I do have a miter saw and it does show an angle of 45 degrees to cut and I did cut that angle but 45 degrees is too high. But I did not cut it at 22.5 degree, but I will try it today. That's ok, you can judge and give me some pointers, I'm up for criticism, suggestions, ideas
Ok, Take 2 of your 2x4's and cut them on one end 22.5 degrees. Put them together so they make a 45 degree angle and one way to make them very solid is to cut some scrap pieces of plywood and screw one piece on each side of your boards up near where the peak is. It doesn't matter what they look like because it will be hid when you put your siding on later. After you put your boards together set them on top of your walls and find the center. Now figure how much overhang you want and mark the other end of your 2x4's and cut them at the same angle as you did for your peak and it will look like a professional did it! Hope this helps and let me know if you have any questions.
WOW, that means I did it the right way because I did this earlier today and I had the chance to read this now (8:41pm). I cut 2 boards 22.5 angle and put them together but another board and my problem was really the side of the boards, not the top. So my hubby came to help for few minutes and he made me cut them to un-known angle but it worked
. Before he came, I did cut the sides at 22.5 angle and it was too high. We made 3 roof frames, 1 on each end and 1 in the middle. Tomorrow, I'll be putting the remaining 2 sides of the walls and work on the windows, ventilation and nest boxes. My sister in-laws brother will be coming on Tuesday to help me with the rest of the roof. He has more muscles then I do
and he's a BIG guy !
WVBarker, I thank you very much
You don't know how much I appriciate your help and everyone who's given me suggestions, ideas, how to do's, thank you all.
But I got 1 question WVBarker, since I'm trying to make this light weighted as possible, is it ok to use the same type of plywood used on the side wall for roof ? If the side wall are water proof, wouldn't it be water proof on top ? My sisters in-laws brother says "no". He thinks we should get a untreated plywood and put one of those shingle rools on top. What do you think ?
