My dogs got my almost 1 year old RSL..

I added to my previous post about her eye.

I would not bandage/cover the wounds, also unless she is lethargic or seems to be in a great deal of pain (she doesn't sound like it) I would forgo the aspirin as well.

No one has addressed the GSD it is herding dog than need direction and training
or it will be ruined always wanting to eat your birds
I am aware she is a herding dog and needs training. That is why we got her. We are training her. She is still very young and has a lot to learn. She doesn’t want to eat them it’s out of play and not realizing her strength etc.

Okay thank you. I have it on hand just Incase then. No, her other eye is not misshapen and I had made a post a few months back asking about it. We have NEVER had any illnesses and other than being a bit sassy she has had zero health issues

Thank you so much. I have everything I need to get her as well as possible as soon as possible. I have electrolytes, nutridench, vetericyn gel, blukote for after its healing, gauze and elastic bandage for a few days coverage. I am going to give her a very mild Epsom salt and soap bath and wash her up good and flush her wounds. I’ll prob give a little aspirin before I work on her. She’s eating and drinking and laying so I’m eeally happy about that. Just hoping I can get all of the maggots out. My step mom and husband are going to help me as this isn’t a task I’d do alone but I’d do it for my dogs or kids so I’d do it for her!
Mostly good advice given, especially that offered by @Wyorp Rock. Verily, the wounds don't look that bad to me. Trim the feathers away so they don't dip into your handiwork reintroducing bacteria to the wounds.
Flush the wounds with saline solution.
I then use betadine full strength.
I like the eye type triple antibiotic ointment because it melts at body temperature so it will seep deep into the wound where it is needed.
The rest is fairly unnecessary.
I have used campho-phenique. It is antiseptic, pain and itch relieving.
After you get this cleaned and treated, you need to put the bird somewhere that flies don't have access so they can't lay eggs in the wound. With flies, it only takes minutes for the wound to be covered with fly eggs. By the next day, they have hatched and are maggots.

Betadine full strength is too strong to use inside a wound, it can burn healing tissue. Also, it's not a good idea to use ointment inside of wounds, as it then acts as a foreign body and has to be expelled before the wound can heal. Both can be used around the edges of a wound if necessary.

Firt thing I would do is give her some aspirin, it's 25mg (1/4 a tablet) per lbs of the chicken. You should also get her some disinfectant, like bluekote, and keep her separated till she heals
For what it’s worth, 1/4 tablet of a standard, adult-dose aspirin is ~80 mg., not 25 mg.
Basically, 1 full-strength aspirin tablet = 4 low-dose, “baby” aspirin tablets.

I don’t know if the appropriate dose is actually 1/4 tablet per lb., or if it’s 25 mg. per lb.
Someone else will have to address that.
