my dogs poop in the backyard...will my chickens eat it?

Yup...my Golden and cocker love going on the hunt for chickie poo...I do keep my dog droppings cleaned in the yard everyday tho...

The 9 hens don't eat Doberman poo but the Dobes sure do eat hen poo. The yard and decks are a lot cleaner cause the Dobes do the chicken poo detail. Wish I could teach the hens to eat the Dobe poo so I wouldn't have to pooper scoop! Of course I would need a lot more chickens since we have 4 Dobes.

He'll eat it, He'll like it and most worms don't transfer from species to species. Dogs have certain worms, horses have certain worms and chickens have certain worms.

I have culls that run the yard and eat nothing, but horse leavings..they are the healthest birds you've ever seen.

I don't really see the harm in chickens eating bugs/maggots from the dog poop, like they do with manure from livestock. Not sure about what parasites specifically could be transmitted from dogs to chickens. My dog doesn't eat chicken poop, so don't have to worry about that.

*I think roundwms, hookwms, pinwms & tapewms all travel to any species-- saw a kinda icky!-yikes! PBS show to that effect--recently. . . they also said 62%(!!) of U.S. Adults have beasties & don't know it. . . Will someone pass me a pint of ivermectin, please???

my hens will eat dog poo and my dogs eat hen poo,i dont really know what to do about it i clean up after my dogs, but there is always some poop around (i have 4 large dogs and 4 hens). My main worry is it weather effect there eggs. i know all my animals are worm free and healthy. Should i be concerned?

i am get chicken eggs tomorrow i hope when they hach they do not eat the dog poop or my dog does not eat there poop.

My dog follows the chickens around hoping to catch a snack before it hits the ground.
