My drake duck is chasing one of my chickens, what do I do?

My duck is chasing one of my chickens and is grabbing her neck feathers (hasn't pulled any out) and I don't want to get rid of my duck, what do I do??

I would strongly suggest separating the duck from your chickens before he hurts them. It sounds like he's trying to mate, and that could injure your chicken.

That may need to change if you don't want your duck injuring your chicken.

Agreed with BJ. An amorous drake can easily kill a hen. Their anatomy is NOT compatible!

Yes, Aart has given good advice. You may have to make a separate coop/run for your drake and free range them on alternate days to keep them separate. Drakes love female chickens just like female ducks! But, they aren't compatible and he'll hurt or kill her.

What if I got a female duck? Would that stop my duck from trying mate with my chicken??
