Selenium Toxicity HELP!

Welcome To BYC
Can you get some photo of the chick (all the chicks!:))

I'd make sure she's getting 400IU Vitamin E and 1/4tablet B-Complex daily. Offer a little egg to help with the uptake of E. Too much Selenium can make them worse, even if you have added in the B1 (Thiamine) from the B-Complex.

Work on her eating and drinking. Offer wet mushy feed. You can give a little crumbled tofu or strained baby food (meat/beef) if you wish along with her food.

Hopefully she'll pull through, sometimes chicks fail to thrive for various reasons. Silkies are prone to having neurological symptoms due to the hole in their skull.

@Debbie292d may have some tips for you since she breeds them.

Make sure sound is on. I’m not sure what her (Gobbles) chirps mean. And would you believe me that Gobbles looks better today? This video shows her still having episodes but it’s not as bad. Sorry for the messy brooder we need to get them actual water containers and feeders for them. The other chick that’s with her was going through some terrible constipation so we put her with Gobbles. We also can’t get her feathers to floof back after the many epsom salt baths to help her go potty. Luckily she seems to be doing great and is regular and not crying when she “goes”. Her and Gobbles seem to be getting on just fine and Gobbles isn’t alone.

Is your box getting warmed up by the heat lamp? If so, I'd take it out and either get the tape off or find one without tape. The glue on the tape could be heating up and causing toxic fumes.

Otherwise, she looks like she is suffering from something neurological, although going in circles wasn't something mine had done. Each case could present different issues though.

You mentioned she's tucking her head. If she does that for a length of time, I'd do physical therapy to gently lift it up where it should be and hold it there for a few seconds, then let her put it back to where she wants. Do that for a few times each episode.

I never thought about the tape on the box. But from what I can tell, it doesn’t feel too hot or too warm at all. But I’m not sure if it being just being a little warm would cause anything? I’ll remove it to be on safe side. But the video of her today is one day after the B vitamins. She’s only had a couple of episodes today where usually is like 5x a day. And she does her little bark chirp while she’s having it. Yesterday she was waaay worse. The day before I put her in a little bowl with a towel and fed her from a small lid so she held her head while eating and wouldnt fall backwards. It seemed to really work. She’s only in the bowl supervised. But yesterday was bad. Constant spinning while head was down. I couldn’t do the bowl trick like did the day prior because of how bad she was. What you saw today her head is way up more than it usually is. We did start her on the B vitamins last night. I can’t imagine that would help things so quickly but I’m not sure. From what I’ve read online, selenium toxicity can make wry neck worse so that’s why I was pretty panicked about it and I’m not professional by any means, but it definitely seemed like it due to her going from what seemed to be mild to what she is now.
