hi there duck loving community! I’m looking for some advice. We have a pekin drake and Cayuga duck that are 6 mos, get along great and are so sweet. We did have 2 other males before and they all got along great but then we gave away 2 males just so our female wouldn’t be outnumbered. then we hatched 4 babies and they are nearly 3 months. The pekin does not like them at all. He paces the fence line that is between them looking for an opportunity to go after them and if he somehow gets through he chases them and bites their feathers off! Any advice on how to get him to accept them? They are in a side by side seethrough run and share a coop at night that is divided. Should i move my little Cayuga in with the younger ones if she will be nice and leave the Pekin by himself? Thanks for any advice

I would suggest waiting until they are larger and then move the Cayuga hen in with them. Once they have adapted to one another (days, not hours) I would try adding the Pekin to the flock.

Just time, every introduction is different. I've had one take right away because she immediately submitted to our drake then I've had some take months. Babies are the hardest because you don' want then to get hurt. Once they are aroun 4 months I'd just let them go, he probably just wants to mate them and once that happens it will be okay I'm sure.

I introduce free ranging...Even Ducklings...I put together permanently when the peeping stops at around 8 weeks...At 4 months they are teen Ducks and a bit bad...Ducks to me are like feathered puppies and if you understand Dogs?...Ducks are the same way..
