They certainly are. Our breakers prevent blown fuses from causing fires so all turned out well and we got a funny story and some extra hatching supplies from that event.

Yep. And the chicks seem to be doing fine with the more natural heat. They go out to eat, and go under the heating element when they need it.

All my chicks at that time are out in the coop now. We also now have three quail, several new bantam chicks, bunnies, and new chicks hatching any day now.

I had my personal bunny out in the yard today and she was having a ball. The chickens had a funny reaction to her. When she wasn't looking, they would get up close and follow her to check her out. But as soon as she turned to investigate one of them, they bolted from her.
