My duck died suddenly

The tag on the bottom has the ingredients. That's Purina flock raiser, and should have 20% protein. It also has 55mg/kg of niacin though it isn't (required to be) listed on the tag, I called the company to verify when I was raising ducklings.
Thank you! So the food wasn’t the problem you tbink? We recently had a tropical storms come through last week due to hurricane Dorian I wonder if she got a cold. I had them on a dewormer this week because I heard her cough Once on Wednesday of last week

Those 2 look pretty normal to me from what I can see. Feed looks fine as long as it isn’t moldy? Hopefully it was something internal with only her and the others are safe. Getting a necropsy though could tell you a lot and ease your mind.

Thank you!
That’s what I’m hoping! The food got wet last week during the storm but I throw the bag out and got a new one once I realized. I’m almost wondering if a piece was moldy

Could have been moldy feed. Even run off water from flooding can bring in contaminants that can make ducks sick or kill them. If you go to the first page of the duck forum on the left side of the page almost to the top of the page you’ll see duck sticky’s it has great info plus a link to flushes if our ducks eat something toxic.

Thank you! I did lock them on my back porch during the storm so they didn’t get wet

I don't understand why a cough would require deworming.

What were you using and how much?

Also, a storm might cause other problems like frightening them and getting injured... but ducks are meant to get wet. Did they get into something on the porch by chance?

The only real way to get an answer is necropsy...
