I have a couple incubators like the one pictured above and they arent even close to right, nor to each other...I bought 2 spot checks and an egg-o-meter and they are all within .2 degrees of each other...
I wanted to suggest that if this should ever happen again you might want to try using medical paper tape (if you can find it) to cover the crack. It's porous and comes off easily, yet protects the egg very well. I've used duck tape too though - whatever works! Please let us know as soon as the baby's out!!
Glad to see this thread! The same thing happened to one of my silkie eggs, I was candling them and cracked one egg on another. I put scotch tape on mine though, and its on the bottom side. But we are at day 8 for these babies and so far it is developing normally. It is very encouraging to see this. I am SOO glad now that I didn't throw it out! Any pics of the baby?
