Hello, im new here but i need help we got two new ducklings about two weeks ago and one was perfectly fine about an hour ago but she just started being really wobbly when she stands up and she started sneezing a bit, she can stand up and walk around but she keeps falling over, she seems to be breathing ok besides the sneezing but she sounds a tad bit clogged up when she exhales, i give my ducklings plenty of water to swim in and clear their noses in but shes still acting like this, again she just started acting like this out of nowhere and its only been going on for about a half hour, will she snap out of it or is it something i should be worried about?

Welcome to BYC. There is also a duck forum for more help under the heading “Forums” at the top of this page. What are you feeding your ducklings? Ducks need extra niacin or vitamin B3, which can be found in human or animal B complex (not B12.) It also can be found in nutritional yeast added to their feed. I will tag @Miss Lydia one of the duck experts to chime in.

What breed of duckling? AND what are you feeding then? @Eggcessive got it right and this is usually when we start to see niacin deficiency. If you can give us the information we asked that can help and I'd advise going to TSC and getting the liquid B complex and starting your ducklings on it asap. Start with 1/2 ml daily to each duckling you have they all need the niacin if being fed chick starter and even when fed duck starter they can still need extra. I'd give it to make sure they get full does over a small amount of treat like peas smashed a bit or meal worms. if you put it in water you have no way of knowing how much they are getting. this is given orally by the way even though it says injectable.
