MY DUCKLINGS ARE PECKING EACH OTHER

I recently purchased two duckings at a Tractor Supply. I have no clue what breed they are or their genders, the yellow one (Taffy) has started pecking the black one (Oliver) in the face. Are they fighting? should i separate them? And could someone tell me the breeds????

I'm not very good with breeds but black one looks like runner duck. They pick at each other some..Nothing to worry about unless they are causing damage to each other. Ducks do best with other ducks so only seperate if you absolutely have to. They are very cute. If you post them in the duck thread someone should be able to tell breed for you.

The yellow looks like a silver appleyard ... thats my guess
The black one does not look like a runner to me at all.
The yellow on the feet/ wings and is there a little on the bill?
Maybe some more angles of the black one...

And yes the picking at each others bills and eyes and feet are normal

You're right about the black one not being runner. I went back to pics and realized it has the lil light patches on feet n such, plus much rounder head. I thought the yellow looked appleyards but wasn't sure cuz she said she got em at TSC and ours do not carry appleyards. The darker one is puzzling due to the slight white on side and bi color webs

I agree... hard one to figure out... makes me think of muscovy.. but those arent usually at tsc
And i wish mine had silver appleyards too! I have seen a handful of people here now who have gotten them from tsc!
