My ducks are coming tomorrow!

Theses 12 are very hardy from 4 to 6 weeks old I think...I have been feeding them twice a day but they are doing very well- I do not want food and water in the house for several reasons....
When I hatch and brood I will remember what you said- Thank you!

I wove nylon string back and forth over the top of my run and tied flagging tape here and there to the string to make sure it’s visible to evil hawks. We have lots of raptors... certainly no longer endangered at all, but we’re not permitted to shoot them. The string works well. I’ve seen hawks flying over from time to time, low and slow, but they never make the attempt.

Better than the pellet gun because it works whether I’m watching or not. Plus, I can always tell the wind conditions by looking out the window at the tape.

We have quite a few red tailed hawks in the neighborhood. When the girls were younger and smaller I would not let them out in the yard without me. One day I saw them through the back window looking up at the sky and went out and there were four big hawks circling not too high. I, in my bathrobe like a crazy lady, yelled and waved my hand towel around and they left.

That is when I knew I was a crazy duck lady.

We used an old cellphone as a wifi cam and we watch them all the time!
Yesterday was the first time I herded them around my garden to eat little grasshoppers!!!!!

YES! My poor neighbors... I spend a lot of early mornings shuffling around the back yard talking to the ducks in my muck boots and fuzzy bathrobe.
