Hello everyone! I've made this account a couple months ago, but this is my first time ever posting on it. Here is a brief introduction: I am a fifteen year old girl and I've had my flock of five beautiful ducks for almost three years. Until recently, I haven't had to deal with any major health issues since last year. Currently, two of my female ducks have been limping for almost a week now. I haven't been able to tend to them because my allergies have been giving me flu-like symptoms for days, but I've been feeling much better today and have decided to check on them.

Here's whats going on: my Cayuga has two black, pea-sized dots on the bottom of her left foot. The dots are next to each other on the heel of her foot. Also, her foot is slightly swollen and warm. She is able to limp around, swim, and eat, but she is constantly lifting her foot and laying on the ground. Today, I've tried applying Neosporin, but I'm not sure if it will help, considering the skin is rough and scabbed. What I think happened is she stepped on two thorns while trying to reach her nest, which is located underneath a thorn bush, and the thorns either tore her skin open, which allowed dirt to enter, or the thorns are stuck inside. I'm not sure how to tell. After doing a brief google search, I have came to a conclusion that it is a mild form of Bumblefoot.

My other duck, a Blue Swedish, has something else going on with her left foot. She is not limping as badly as my Cayuga, but she still has a slight limp. When I checked her foot this morning, I didn't see any black scabs. Instead, I found a two little brown dots that resembled a snake's bite. This doesn't surprise me because the pond that my ducks swim in is loaded with all kinds of water snakes. Most of them aren't venomous, which is a relief, but I'm still concerned how this could affect my duck's health. The area around the bite is slightly swollen.

So here's my question to all the professional duck-lovers reading this: what should I do? Is there a way to treat Bumblefoot without cutting into her foot? Also, I'm not sure which antibiotic/medicines to give my ducks. Unfortunately, I'm unable to take my ducks to the local veterinarian clinic because they don't treat poultry. Plus, I doubt my parents would be willing to spend a couple hundred dollars on a bunch of ducks. Also, I'm currently unable to take any photos because it is thunder-storming and I don't want to get my phone soaking wet.

Thank you to everyone who has taken the time to read this incredibly long post! I will be looking forward to replies. Please feel free to give advise, any will help! I love my duck family so much and it breaks my heart whenever I see them injured.
