My ducks butt..?

When the vet tested the fluid, was there bacteria present? If it was EYP, I would *think* there would be some sort of bacteria or infection?

Yes that's why she's on amoxicillin. Now I've made some posts on Facebook and one person seems to really think it could be or is a heart lung or liver issue. She pointed out the fact she pants sometimes it could or is linked.

I chalk it up as her being a drama queen, and once she gets a fan on her or drinks water she's okay. Her panting isn't associated with heavy or rapid breathing it's more like her just hanging her bill open.

Some seem to think it's ascites caused by EYP. Ascites pretty much always comes back and needs constant draining form what I have read, and neither of the meds she has will treat that. Some say they have had the same fluid but it was liver failure(none of which had the fluid diagnosed or examined)

I guess I just feel lost and was confident we could beat this EYP but people mention these slew of other possibilities and maybe I just haven't asked the right questions when I was at the vet.

Did the vet do a fecal float?

Nope, none of this stuff was discussed with the vet. I am going to call Monday and try to get back in later in the week. At least for a check up, and express these concerns. I just want to be ready with the right questions and how to back them up. Not just throw 5 different things at him.

If you're going back in, have him do a fecal and check for worms, just to be safe... sometimes there's more than one issue going on and little things get missed for the big...

Okay, what information will I get from the fecal test? and if she had worms what would that say? If she didn't would it rule out other things?

Fecal float will show worm eggs, if she has any worms... and what type... panting *may be* unrelated to her other issues... some worm loads first signs are panting when stressed...

Okay, I'll get it done. My insurance company probably is going to disown me after all these claims lol..

Just to note she has always done the panting thing, probably from 3 weeks old. She constantly had us worried she was overheating, but now...I think it could just also be a reaction to a certain situation or different environment.
