my easter egger aka FEATHERS squated today

It almost looks like they are doing a birds version of a curtsey....they crouch down with their wing out as if holding a skirt and bow their heads...I skritch their backs and pat their bum floof ....fyi be careful you don't pat something warm and moist.......they think theyve
 
Ok I see, but it is only when you approach them right?  They wouldn't do it for no reason as they are just walking around right?  Thanks,

Yep, that's right. My older chickens always squatted when we bent down to pat them :p

Well the roo has no boy parts...they just vent to vent touch so she shakes to Move his deposit to where it needs to go to get the job done...thats why they shake....so IV read on other posts
