Ever since my EE started laying eggs for about 4 weeks now, she is panting so much.

Usually I see her pant than she runs in goes to the nest and drops an egg. Lately I noticed she is panting when no one else is doing so. Do Hens have hormonal changes or anything that might cause that?[IMG]

Yes I live in Florida but it really has not been that hot with the Tropical Storm last week and the everyday Thunderstorms we get no one else seems heat stressed?

It does sound like she's hot but if all the others aren't panting then maybe something else is going on.

Hopefully someone will read this that can offer you advice through experience.

My girls have been panting a lot, too. Especially with the humidity that followed that tropical storm. Just keep the water bucket full, the hot weather is almost done. Someone suggested to me to get a vitamen/electrolyte pack to add to their water when it gets this hot.
