I applaud your efforts. Honestly, I am too scared to try to hatch my own. I don't think I could take the stress/trauma of it all. Fingers crossed!!!!!!!

This is my nightmare .. I'll be setting eggs this week .. and I work outside the home. .. so won't be able to monitor as regularly ..

I'm so sorry .. it'll cause alot of anxiety .. hopefully everything will be ok..

I'm watching this thread to see the outcome ...

Im not sure-tomorrow will be day 6 so after temps and everything stabalize candle tomorrow-you should totally be able to see things then too. Even if it looks like nothing is going on in the eggs-leave them in-you never know-there are some pretty incredible stories on here about completely terrible problems and still manage to get babies out...I have a hovabator and alwasy have problems-Im upgrading very soon because of it. Dont give up yet... sending hatching prayers to you

I'd like to upgrade at some point as well, but it's not in the budget right now.

Since they were so hot I figured it wouldn't hurt to get them out and candle since I was leaving the bator lid open anyway. At least five appear to have something definite going on. And two of those had had detached air cells (I marked all of those.) Two more looked positive, but I could not say for sure. But I'd say yes, if I had to guess. And the four olives I could not see through at all. Three blue ee's and 1 silkie were the only ones I would probably say nothing was happening in. But I could even be wrong about that. Some were obvious though. There are baby chicks in there. So I'm hoping that maybe some of them survived this.

do not get down on yourself-like I said, even the most experienced hatchers have problems and lose 100's of eggs:-( you just need to stay positive for the ones who are still alive and growing for you:) The next few days will tell you how strong they are to survive those temps for however long they were subjected to it. Those will be very strong babies:) chin up and big smiles you still have lots of positive happy things to look forward to in 16 days or sooner:)

Thanks, Sonew. I know others have had similar issues, so I won't give up. I keep remembering what you said about your first hatch. At least if this causes problems it happened fairly early and I'm not going into lockdown expecting a huge hatch.

I am kind of thinking I may have a thermometer problem. I am saying that's a possibility because of how unstable the temps have been since I got up. Rapid changes!! This has never happened before, that things have changed this quickly. I don't see how the air temp in the bator can change 3 or 4 degrees in less than 5 minutes if the door has not been opened. That's crazy! And yet that appears to be happening. (I took the temp probe out of the water wiggler to check the air temp and let it lay there for a while.) I know the batteries aren't weak because they were changed day before yesterday. I am hoping it's the thermometer and that was not really how high it got.

I wasn't gone that long and so much has changed!! Sonew123 your babies are so cute. I love their little bright eyes.
Blessedchicken mama-let keep a good thought that the thermometer is going crazy! You still have babies and sonew is right-they will be hearty little buggers. I cannot wait to see your little ones. They will make you laugh!!

Thanks, guys for the hope and encouragement. I know some are growing. Or at least were. I am about to turn them again. The temp seems to be leveling out now. So we'll see.

Wow, 108, huh? Well, maybe there is hope.
