Sorry everybody, I have to buy a new cord tomorrow. In the mean time a second chick hatched! I have lots of photos to post. For those of you who are interested he Emu eggs just fit in the Hovabator and I turned them 4-6 times a day for the first month then was too tired to get up at night and dropped down to 3-4 times a day. On Monday morning, day 49, I was shocked to see the first one peeped. It was looking at a dinosaur in an egg! I started to cry with excitment and anxiety. DH and I set up a heat lamp in a big plastic tub and moved all the eggs. It took about 6 hours for it to hatch. I called home about every 1/2 hour checking. On Wednesday 4 am the second hatched. I do not expect the others to hatch. I promise pics as soon as I can. They are really something special!
