LOL, That's funny! With the stuf I have or have had, or plan to get, there's no way around that, got $1000 pr peafowl now.

Destin, that's great to hear that they now have a surplus of them, very good!
and yep, $600 for bronzewings sounds in the ball park. I'm like Destin though, find any pygmy goose for that and let me know, I'll go cross country for that, lol

Destin, does your buddy know how they have been doing on their Hartlaub's? A few other breeders have them now, but once again, they all pretty much originated from S.H.

Thats why we wait for BBB, and destin to start raising them and distributing them and wait for the price to go down.

unless the have great personality, thats why I like mean ole shelducks

haha, I hear ya, I just love the color on the (the hartlaub's that is)
As for the more with them= cheaper, yep, that's what's happened with the seaducks, 10-15 years back, only 4 breeders had them in North America, Glenn Howe in Canada, Paul Dye, the Lubbocks, and of course Arnold Scouten, the man who personally collected all the originals from the wild. Now quite a few folks have them, though still super high and out of most price range, they have fallen about 60% in over all price, so the more the merrier for sure.

and yep Donna, if you plan of getting baikals, I wont tell him how much they cost! LOL

REALLY, YOU LIKE THE COMB DUCK?
I SAW THEM AT SYLVANS, MAN THOSE BUGGERS ARE FUNKY LOOKING TO ME, AND HUGE TOO, LOOKED GOOSE SIZE

we saw the african pygmy geese at the Toledo zoo amazing little waterfowl but short of putting up a greenhouse doubt we will ever be able to keep them. Kanga thats the problem once you start with the waterfowl it is a bad addiction we started with a pair of mandarins and now the ducks have taken us and our property over, but it is a great enjoyment we have several schools that bring classes through and it is fun to see the amazement on the kids faces most never new there was so many different waterfowl out ther.

That's very true waterdog. I started with just afew pair when I was 8 ish, by the time I was 18, I had close to 100 species of waterfowl, doesnt take long, they are like crack, the first few just give ya a taste for it, then it seems that's all you can think of, MORE MORE MORE, LOL!
Not that I'm a crack head, LOL, Maybe a duck head....

AND YEP, that too is a good point on the Africans, if you are in a northern climate, they do require winter heat, we're fortunate in that aspect here, never gets cold enough to bother any tropical species here.
