Linda, yes pocards of all species are ground nesters, red crested are one of the easiest to keep, no major requirements for them.
Yes Sylavn is pretty much the only place that has the africans, they are really the ones who got them started here in the states, and keep a tight fist over them. They rarerly let any go, and when zoos have them for sale, well, they zoos got them from the Lubbocks, so the have deals that all excess stock must be offereed back to them first. So it's pretty much them and zoos with them. They have all 3 species of the little ducks too, seen them all there. The indian is pretty nice too.
