I love it when you put photos up of your ducks, I would never of imagined there were so many different species of them. Could you do me a favour, and Im sure other people would like to know too...but could you possibly next time put photos up with the breed name on them.
What kind is the 1 with the white chest, and whats the 2 with the long beaks, and the 1 with the orange eyes. I do know the yellow one IS NOT A PARROT

Stunning birds. Thanks for sharing

yellow one with long crest is a golden pheasant
long billed ones are northern shoveler

3)ringed teal
4)shoveler
5) wood duck

I see you have Cubans in with other animals.. I love them but have been told not to do this??
Do you have problems with them fighting?

Sorry gofasterstripe. I usually do. Kanga. I was told the same. This is my first year with these and they are first year birds. They have never been aggressive except when I pull the hose out after filling. I know if a snake gets in they will get rid of it thats for sure. I may find out when breeding begins if I screwed up.Ill move them to their own pen if I have to. But I have found like people every bird is different. I dont have goldeneyes any more because for me they were aggressive most of the time.During breeding moreso, whipped up on smaller birds like teal (killed some)and so had to be In their own pen.Tried several prs too BTW.I love both kinds. Yours may be sweet. I just never found any like that.

Of course breeding time is the most fun time for us all it is also the most aggressive time for the ducks to each other.Just gotta watch em. All my pics are iphone

Well let me know how you do with them!
I want a pair or two but have heard they are the worst.. but of course like you said all birds are different. So far my Chiloe Widgeons and the little buffleheads are the "Kings" of the pen.. It is al about to get interested.. I almost bought a pair or two of the Cubanian but the guy seeling me told me he was getting rid of them beacuse they several of his breeders last year and took the babies for their own because theirs didn;t hatch.. Crazy birds.. Told him no Thanks!

How have you done with the Baikal? They are on my lest to get this year.. of course sooner if I find them.. lol!!
Next week we start work on our Brood House/Pen.. old duck pen with brood boxes in it and I am planning on putting the Baikal in there during breeding season if not year round...

They are the most aggressive treeduck. I did keep some in mixed pens too though. As long as it's not crowded, the little guys learn to get out of the way of the treeduck march. They are butt grabbers mainly. Nothing overly aggressive, but if a bird is in front of them, they will grab their tail feathers usually.
Off season, they arent too bad though. But do to how big they are, and that attitude, they do bare watching is kept with teal. Most others are tuff enough to handle them.

Then like Shawn said, so can be little babies, just depends on the individual, I never had overly aggressive golden eyes. Nothing agressive out of the americans, they barrow's were space bullies, but once the bird left their turf, they left them alone. So it varies, they are are just on the watch out for them list though.

Kanga, First time with baikal too. My one hen is two and the pair are last year birds. The two year hen is proven. ( All unrelated )Yea Aubrey the Cubans got big! Yall give me faith on the goldeneyes. Maybe this fall again.Fourth time's the charm. Kanga I promised Donna a pair of baikals but you are right behind her if all goes well.
