I got into chickens when I was probably around 8 or 10 years old. My brother who was in high school at the time played a big part in getting baby chicks. We had so many chicks (so many!! Lol), and the majority were straight run. Well one of my favorite and most remembered birds happened to be the sweetest buff orpington roo, named Big Bird. He would cuddle up and sit in my lap and fall asleep. And sadly, thinking back one of the greatest regrets I have from that flock of birds is that we never kept that sweet boy 💔.

Well fast forward to this year when picking up babies I decided to get a buff orp that was straight run since I had always regretted not keeping big bird and I'd be happy roo or hen. And so now I have Peep, who is the sweetest baby I couldve asked for ❤

I'd love to hear other stories about buff orps you've had/ any breed you've had past regrets about.

After some researching and planning, we got our first ever chickens this year and went with 3 buff orpingtons. Fast forward a few months and we have 5 now. They are so sweet. I love how "chatty" they are. I have one 7 week old who is always chirping. It's quiet but she has a lot to say!

She is precious 😍😍 I honestly dont think there's another breed out there that can compete with the buff orps on sweetness. I may be biased but they may just be my favorite breed!
