Yeah i was thinking they were getting close judging by there comb and wattle development. Then i had several squat for me. I have Buff Orpingtons, Light Brahmas, and Australorps.
And they all lay brown eggs. I think the brahmas should lay speckled eggs. So it would be a austrolorp probably because you said the orpingtons were not squatting.

OK that makes sense. The egg has different shades of brown not sure if thats because i had to wash it since it was dirty. I have never seen any of these eggs in person so cannot differentiate as to who laid it just by looking at the egg....yet..

I cant tell the difference between 4 of mine, right now all i know is 2 are laying.🤣

Stalk them! Sit out there to see who comes out of the coop singing that egg song!

That does not work with my (crazy) flock. Unfortunately one hen started doing "tattle tale" egg song when one of the others laid (the layer sang nothing). Now another seems to have started doing "tattle tale egg song", so it looks like this will be within my flock forever.

Color depends on the chicken and amount of bloom. My Light Brahma lays ‘pink-brown’ eggs and the shape is nearly rounds like yours. My bielefelders lay anything from chocolate to light to speckled. They like to keep me guessing!
