FIRST CHICK!!!!!

It's out. Kicked free at 2:20am exactly! I was asleep when the loud peeping woke me. Went out just in time to see the littleone kick out of the shell. Once the little one spotted me she climbed over all the other eggs in the bator to rest against the side nearest me

First a question: The chicks rolled some of the pipped eggs pip side down so it's hard to tell if there are just the 3 pips or if more are pipped like that, should I gently roll the pip side down eggs so the pip is up again or will they be OK to hatch pip side down? They are on a metal grate so they get plenty of air either way.

Good luck Garden Girl and kysilkies! This first time hatch thing is super exciting. I find myself almost glued to the bator! I had to force myself to take a break to write this and send pics to my DH.

So we have 4 out so far and 1 more zipped (one of my EE eggs!), 3 more (at least) pipped.

I took the first 4 out of the incubator since it was crowded and they kept rolling the other eggs that are trying to hatch. I was very careful to take just one at a time so the humidity barely dropped in the bator. Here they are in the brooder (the speckles on the black chick are just dust that fell off the edge of the brooder when I moved the lid to take the pic):

Here's a cute pic of chick #2 just as she got her head out for the first time.

Congrats! I have chicks pipping and zipping at this very moment! It is always so exciting. What kind of incubator is that??
