On March 19, 2016 five chicks hatched and one more the next day. The first day of Spring2016!! I am so excited!! I have had chickens for less than a year and thought what the heck let's give it a try since we have a hen going broody. Well much to my surprise we have 5 beautiful chicks that are almost two weeks old. Any suggestions on sexing at this age??

Congratulations! Do you know the breed(s) of the parent birds (don't want to assume you set her own eggs under her)? Unless the breeds are such that you would have sex linked offspring you will need to wait another 4 weeks or so and use the standard characteristics to start getting an idea of gender.

They are Rhode Island Reds. I only have this breed. 9 hens and 1 rooster. And now 5 baby chicks! I'm hoping they are all female so I can keep them. I cannot have another Rooster, I think my neighbors would object.
