and I have a house duck, he hatched and mama didn't want him, tried to get one of chickens who was brooding on nothing to take him, nope she didn't want him either, so in the house he came at about 1 hr old. We set up a large rubber maid tub for him I put in pine shaving with paper towels over that and chicken waterers and feed bowl, also gave him a stuffed duck to cuddle with. He was so precious, he stayed inside continually till 3 months old then he started staying outside with the adults when I could supervise which it was summer so I could be out alot. We found out he was a drake so in sep. we went and got him some girl friends he could grow up with since our Adult drake had already put his mark on the 5 girls we already had. He started sleeping in the duck house at 4 months, he comes in alot during the day and still sleeps in his bedroom at night, we have wood floors and even though I have various size diaper harnesses I just keep a bottle of disinfectant close and paper towels and clean up after him. you can order harnesses from a few people on BYC if interested or make your own if your good with a sewing machine, but since you have 2 now maybe you won't want 2 house ducks. lol and forgot to say CONGRATS..

since the new one hatched out shes been quit we put a sheet over the box they r in so it will block the light cuz i cant sleep with light in the room lol but make sure cant catch on fire cuz that would be just HORRIBLE. Still trying to think of a name for her. Any suggestions? :p Since the other one hatch tho my husband decided he's going to build a brooder inside the big chicken coop since we r out of room on the side of the house lol

I am no good with names, but Tilly and Milly would be cute.
