The first chick of my first ever hatch! This is Elara, she is an ameraucana---possibly a blue splash, but not 100% sure of the color ID just yet! Hard to tell on such a tiny baby. :D

I'm only keeping these little guys to hatch and rear; I unfortunately don't have the space or resources to keep them into adult age. I plan on selling them locally or giving them to a friend. I'll be sad to see them go, but I want what's best for them as they age! The people in my area love their fowl, so I have no doubt my little ones will grow up with plenty of love wherever they go.

This chick is already very friendly and even fell asleep in my hand earlier. It'll be hard to let her go!

What a cutie! I'm sorry you're going to get rid of her!

Haha don't be sorry! I'll miss her, and the others---even her rambunctious little sibling, whom I can't wait for to settle down and take a nap!! But the eggs were offered to me by a family member to try my hand at hatching; I never planned on keeping them for myself. I'd love to watch them grow into big beautiful adults, but I care more that they go to a good long-term home. I am jealous of whoever ends up getting her, though. :p
