I did try to make sure my broodies got up once a day and see that they got water, especially. One in particular was wild for dust baths and would spend all her time fluffing and rolling, then all of a sudden she'd squawk (as though she was thinking "My eggs! I forgot!") and make a mad dash back to her nest.
I don't know if you were planning to do this or not, but careful about mixing standard size eggs and bantam eggs under your silkie. A friend of ours saw his hatch rate go down to 50 percent when he did this, while our hatch rate with same size eggs was up at just under 100 percent.
