I had one like that a few weeks ago. The shell was gone but it was still in the membraneI found this with a broody today.
Not really sure what happened. Maybe she was trying to help it hatch. It was malpositioned and couldn’t hatch on its own. Poor thing. I meant to check the rest of her eggs tonight and forgot.

She growled and fluffed up at me. I could tell she wasn’t happy being disturbed.

That doesn’t make you a nerd. It’s amazing to think that just a week ago this egg was really no different from any other.
I think about this every time I choose eggs to hatch or sell for hatching. It’s mind blowing to imagine that all my chickens were a day and a decision away from the frying pan.
I candles my three and two were veiny the other one I couldn’t tell. Also, have you ever had a problem with your hen going to get food and water and come back and get in the wrong box with no eggs?! She’s still sitting but twice now she’s accidentally gotten into the box with no eggs ?! Weird.I was going to candle eggs tonight but it’s pouring rain.
