I have been dealing with mites all season, due to the warm winter we had. Dang things almost killed my best Roo in March. Now they tried to kill him again, and by the time I found out (I was so busy with too much else going on) he was close to death. They sucked him dry, he was so pale. So I grabbed a healthy Roo and took 2cc of blood from his wing vein (w/needle & syringe) and injected it into my sick Roo. Gave him some electrolytes under the skin too, and vitamins in his water. Fed him some huge mealworms (he loved them). He was very emaciated. Last night I gave him more blood (from a different Roo) and now he is looking so much better, acting healthy & crowing! Yay, I saved his life! My Vet Tech expertise came in very handy.
