Any Home Bakers Here?

Also, put the dough into the fridge for an hour or so before baking.
I usually bake a couple dozen right away. If I put it in the fridge, it will never get baked. There are gremlins in this house. :)

I thought gremlins hung out on airplane wings. What do they do to a house, take it apart from the outside while you are looking through a window?

They steal cookie dough out of the fridge. And the head gremlin is immune to spatula smacks if I like sleeping in my bed. :p

Sorry if my post didn’t make sense, I am being monitored during a medical treatment (they gave me a powerful antidepressant) and I am a little loopy during the 2 hour monitoring period. I thought what I said was funny. That’s how loopy I am currently.

It’s a reference to the twilight zone episode Nightmare at 20000 Feet.

The habitat against humanity is a reference to a MST3K short starring Gumby.

My entries for the baking contest mentioned earlier.

Mince pies!

Back when I used to make cookies a lot, I never melted the butter, but I did let it get pretty soft. After I mixed up the dough, I'd make it into balls, and then put it back in the fridge for an hour or so. They seemed to bake without flattening too much, though they took a minute or two longer in the oven.
One of my secrets for next-level chocolate chip cookies is to brown the butter. Then I let it cool before adding it to the mixture.

To prevent overspreading while baking, I mold the cookie dough into little cylinders.

Usually I chill the dough overnight in the fridge but with that last batch it was just in for four hours during the day. I should have left it in overnight.
