I like it better this way. now I just need to figure out how to teach the chickens that the nesting boxes are for laying eggs, and not where they should sleep every night! YES!!! I want to do that for sure. They would love that. Right now their favorite hangout during the day is under the ramp to the coop.

I like your coop. That first picture of your nest boxes in going to help me. I'm rebuilding an existing 7 x 8 building that must be moved from it's current location. That means the inside dimensions will be identical. Roof is sloping and not a mirror image, therefore the back wall is only 4 ft high, while the front wall is 7 ft. high. I cannot put my nest boxes too low, and I'll be using the ceiling, like you have.
