My First Coop! (In Progress) Pic heavy.

It might just look like that because of the angle of the pic.
Roof should be slightly 'tilted' so rain water runs off away from coop.
The roof on the coop itself is tilted and completely waterproof.. the run roof however has some issues I’ll try and get those fixed by next week because I want everything to be done before chicks come.

Yep, I see that.
Tho I'd watch this area closely, wind could blow rain inside the vent as there is not much overhang of the plastic.

You sure don't want water running off the run roof and right against the coop wall,
and then making puddles in the run and under the coop.

*Updates*
What's done:

  • Finished nesting box some add additional roosts inside.
  • Installed light. (Not heat lamp) Just a low wattage LED bulb.
  • Divided the floor. (I'd like to have pine shavings as main bedding and add sweet pdz under the roosts).
To do:
  • Take @aart advice and buy some more plastic roofing to protect from rain./Add and incline to the run roof
  • Paint
  • Make my own MHP.
  • Line the outside with the rocks I brought.

Also added more support to that little roost table thing but forgot to snap a pic. I was gonna paint but today my weather couldn't decide if it wanted to rain or not so ill wait for it to make up its mind and I get a clear day. But back to work tomorrow (at the home depot). I'll be able to buy a few more things I need.

Looks good. Are you making a roost bar over the table? Your roost should be higher than your nest box or they will most likely roost in them, which you don't want to happen. The nest boxes will end up with a lot of poop in them.

It's finally that time! The chicken coop will be done before Monday! With just a few more things to do and a good coat of paint. Please tell me what you think, I'm all for constructive criticism this is my first build like ever... I just came up with this idea and went with it with the help of my mom. Its far from perfect but I'm proud of myself for doing it. Anyways here it is but take in note a few things I have left.
  • Nest Box incomplete. (I plan on putting it up off the ground when i attach the bottom part. gotta grab a little more lumber tomorrow morning.
  • Chicken Ramp not attached
  • Lack of interior designs. (will do more tomorrow).
  • Wire skirt halfway buried but not complete yet.
Here it is!

Also, this is my backyard where I plan to let them free range in a bit. I'm scared they will hope my gates and annoy the neighbors!

Also this is my inspirational for the nest box i'm making if you're curious.

(I got this idea from another user here's post!)

Anyways whats it. Coop is 4x4x6 and the run is 6ft high 7long and 4 wide. Planning to have 4-5 chickens if they will fit. Anyways let me know what you guys think. Don't hold back

I wanted to chime in looks great Aart has great ideas so will keep mine to myself
you have a nice number in mind for the size of coop hope you enjoy be proud of what you built there

Thanks for the tip! I have one roost higher then the nest boxes but ill add different ones

All I gotta say is....good for you getting the coop and run finished BEFORE you get chicks!
Do you know how many people DONT do that?
& it’s looking good :woot
I’ve read that thread up and down about worst mistakes raising chickens lmao I’ll be damned if i repeat any of them! I gotta be prepared, I jumped into raising rabbits a couple years back with no information and I regret it. Poor bunnies, evil family dog.
