My First Coop

Rafters are on. I may need to take off work since i can't seem to get anything done during the week. Next is decking, siding and the nesting box. Not necessarily in that order.

It's looking great Allan!! I had to take off a couple of days from work to get our coop project father forward as well and I highly recommend it. Those 2 days really got me to a point that I could finish on the nights and weekends.

Todays work. The weekend didn't go as planned so I only got the decking on.

Are you following some plans or just winging it? How much have you spent on material? My next project is a shack for laundry and storage.

I've really spent more than i should have. All the wood is pressure treated including the plywood decking and floor, and this is sonething I've never done before so I've had to purchase a few extra 2x4s. Right now I'm at about $550 or so. I've purchased pretty much everything for the coop except wire and paint. The run won't be anywhere near as expensive.

I'm using the coops by SSLFamilyDad and Flemwad18, on YouTube, as patterns to design mine. I'm also using a free application called SkechUp to draw the design. I can then print out my drawing along with the measurements as a guide line to go by. The really cool thing is you can put each section of the coop in its own layer so when you print it out you can print only the part you need.
