My First EGG!!!! Pic added

My DD11 calls me at work and says "did you check the chickens this morning." All I could think was something got to them after I left but she says "well I went in the coop and found an egg!!!!"

She is so egg-cited to be the first one to get the first egg from our ladies. There are several doing the crouching thing with the wings out butt up so maybe soon there will be more eggs.

It wasn't in the nesting box it was on the floor under the nesting box. Hopefully they will get the hang of it soon!!! And it was small but I am just so happy to see an egg I am about to bust. I had to tell everyone at work and they were all excited for me. YAHAHHHAYAHH

Now I just need to find me a good BO Rooster for my girls!!

I am so happy for you!

My sex-links are gonna be 16 weeks old wednesday and i'm searching for eggs everyday but none yet.

everyday when i put them up one stops on the ramp and i go to push it inside but it just stays squatting with its butt up and wings out. So i'm hoping it'll be soon.

Anyone else use those type of holder that I have in the picture?

I got a couple at the farm and home store in the camping section.
I also have regular egg cartons and the bulk type(like cafeterias get eggs delivered in) that don't have lid or anything.

Which is the best to store them in any ideas?

I have had those plastic egg carriers. I think cartons are good. My customers and friends are always bringing me some. I may never have to buy another egg carton again.

Oh that's soooo neat! I can't wait til I can post the same message!! My 5 chicks are ordered and not even hatched yet but I'm already thinking of the day I get them and then the day I have a "first" egg.
