MY FIRST EVER CHICK JUST HATCHED 20 MINS ago!!! HELP PLZ

uh huh...should be fine...equals about a 60w incandescent but less heat i think. should be fine...but please get a brooder box (cardboard) tomorrow...stay with the towels...and awwww...cute...you'll be fine...tomorrow he should try moving more...but if its a robin...it make take a long time to see it stand...they are used to confinememt and mom for food....you may have to dig up the garden for tiny worms...chuckle!

its not a robin robins have blue eggs they are nesting in my roof:$ lol this thing was bigger and brown like bigger than a pigeon yet smaller than a chicken

maybe a killdeer, or some other kind of Plover??

I remember coming across a nest of killdeer once, inbetween mom and dad trying to kill me, I saw the babies, they were tiny, and looked kinda like that.

GOOD QUESTION, what kind of creature is this??? my guess is a quail or grouse... hmmm. what part of the country are you in? what kind of woods was it? was the nest on the ground? what color was the egg?

the type of food you'd give it would definitely depend on what kind of bird it is. it seems like a lot more needy than a chicken chick. i'd call a rescue organization or wildlife rehab place in the morning. they'd probably be able to help you keep your critter alive. i have tried to save several baby birds myself, had only the heartbreak of the silent shoebox come morning : (

i hope he makes i though! he seems like a tough baby to make it this far!!!
