Sorry the last two didn't make it!I candled the other two eggs when we quickly pulled out the other babies for the brooder and it ended up that they were not still alive.I don’t know what went wrong, but they weren’t in the right position and had not moved despite many minutes of candling just to be sure. I opened them up to double check and indeed they were gone.
I am, however, exceedingly grateful we had four VERY happy, very healthy chicks hatch! They have already learned to eat and drink and immensely enjoy each other’s company! I’m so thankful we got this first experience and look forward to learning how to be a better incubator…ist? Thanks y’all so much for joining me in this journey! I’m going to get good pics of Loki, Chihiro, Carol, and Mononoke tomorrow.Hubby and I have decided we will very likely not order chicks ever again. We enjoyed this beautiful process so much, and bonded very much ourselves over cheering on the babies together.
It was really sad, but I’m hoping to use this as a learning experience to try to figure out what went wrong and get better! The four are just PRECIOUS and so amazingly healthy. I’m very happy! They will be absolutely spoiled (granted, all of our chickens areSorry the last two didn't make it!
Congratulations on the four lovely babies!![]()
