My first Hatch. Itzy and Ditzy's BBS Cochin eggs

You might have a chick forming in the one you see that is half dark and half light in the shell. Just relax a little, yes I know its hard to do. What do you mean when you say the one was dancing all over. Do you see movement inside the egg. If so that may also be a chick that is formed. I will keep my fingers crossed for you.

oh ya. I know the one that was "dancing" was a chick in there. That is a lighter egg so easy to see. It was moving all over the place, wiggling away. That egg is doing great and I know for sure is growing so far.

I am "sort of" relaxed. just trying to figure out the darker ones. I just don't want any exploding or anything. I am leaving them for now and will check them around day 10-14 depending on when I have time. Well the ones under Ditzy. The ones in the incubator I will weigh tongiht and try to mark air cells.

I am a bit of an impatient person and I like to have answers on things. I am not good with unexplained things. haahaa! so think it is why this is bugging me so much with the darker eggs. No "answer" there.

Junior did you weigh all the eggs before you put them in the incubator? Then weigh them again and compare how the two are doing, have they lost about the same amount of ounces. Has the light color ones lost some weight and they dark ones done nothing. This is how I decide if there is any chance in the darker eggs hatching. I take them to day 18 and any that has done completely nothing at all I trash. The others go on lock down and I stop turning and then my impatience begins to show. But if they don't pip on day 21 I give them till day 27. Any that don't hatch by then are just not hatching for me. So they get trashed unless I see any signs that they are trying. I have only ever assisted one chick to hatch. It made it but ended up being a Roo. So I had to get rid of him to someone that could give him a good home.

Yes I did weigh them all. The shipped I weighed when I got them and Ditzy's I laid the day it was laid. I am going to reweigh them tonight.

Not sure if any of the eggs in the incubator made it. . I didn't notice movement. I will post up pictures.

So seemed to lose about what they should so what did I do wrong with no movement????

Ok S5 I could see veins but no embryo and veins seemed to move.

The last 2 are the same egg. I would think it did but there was no movement and I couldn't make out veins? the 2nd one I was iffy on but thought I saw veins in that at the beginning but now it is hard to make anything out. The only dark eggs are the 3rd and 4th pics but I think they may be doing nothing and clears. The first was looking great now I just see veins but nothing else.....

made the sideways pic of D3 in black and white and THINK I saw some veings. so REALLY hoping I am wrong since that is the only egg of Ditzy's that looks like it is doing anything. S5 in B&W I think maybe there was something too. and darn S9 is still hard to tell but would think I would see more by now but who knows. so prayers, fingers crossed whatever that I am wrong and they are still growing!
