My first Hatch. Itzy and Ditzy's BBS Cochin eggs

Checked the eggs Ditzy is on. Her 2 she laid are clear so I need to take those at some point. 2 I am almost positive are growing, one I am maybe 50-75% sure there is something. Then one I am not sure either way.

probably a dumb question but will she notice or care if I pull the 2 eggs? I want to give her the chicks that hatch in the incubator once they hatch should I replace any I pull with fake eggs? I know they have said chickens can't count but feel she would notice if her pile went from 6 to 4. LOL

I wouldn't think it would bother her... 4 is still a good little group to nurture! I'd bet she won't notice

HELP!

DAY 10. These are the 3 incubator eggs. There are pics and a few videos (2 videos of S9, 1 of S5)

I think D3 quit am I right?

S9 I am confused... It has an air cell on both ends and one is an upside down V, can kind of see it in one picture. There is a pic of it from each end and a video from each end.... Is it growing? Med brown shell so can't see veins. I can't tell if it is moving in the video or if camera is trying to focus. The video labeled D9 should be S9

S5 looked good to me.

Most have said to wait and see. I still think only one alive is S5 but haven't checked again.

Ditzy got off her nest at like 545 am on Sat and today, she stayed on yesterday even though it was warm out. Going to guess because my husband was doing yardwork. She was only off 15-20 min both of those days and way too early for me so I haven't checked hers at all

candled today both incubator and under Ditzy. It is a cloudy dark day so figured I would sneak eggs out from under her since it was a bit darker in there but went in and she was out dust bathing. I think it is S2 and S7 from under Ditzy are doing GREAT! They are getting big! and then S5 in the incubator looked great.

D3 was just the black dot in a clear egg now so know that one is gone. S9 is still the same size dot and maybe a blood ring but I can still see rings but the dot doesn't look any bigger to me so think that one quit a bit ago maybe with a blood ring in there.

so 3 are going strong that is it.

Hard to believe I started this whole process a bit over 6 weeks ago!!!!!

I checked the incubator egg today and it still seems to be doing well. saw some veins and I think some shadows moving. I checked the ones under Ditzy yesterday morning and they looked pretty well filled in as well but it was a bit lighter so couldn't make out veins or movements but fingers crossed they are still growing and doing well!

They are now on day 16!!!!!!! a bit under 5 days left hopefully (since I set them around 3pm and right now it is 10:30pm here! LOL) I will get the incubator egg set for lockdown tomorrow night since i will be in and out on Sat but I won't bump up the humidity until Sat afternoon.

Fingers crossed that Tue we have a chick in the incubator and a couple under Ditzy!!!!!!! Thankfully I am super busy tomorrow helping my daughter get ready for prom, then going out to dinner and have some running around Sat to do, then I work Sun, Mon and Tue so hoping that helps the days go a bit faster instead of dragging like I think they are going to.
