I checked last night on my lone egg in the incubator around midnight. Last night was officially 21 days. All the other eggs did not develop. I woke this morning at 6 because I was stuffy and needed a tissue. I went down to check and there was a brand new all wet baby silkie.

I'll post pics as soon as it is dried. How long does that take?

I hatched my first chicks ever last week, so I know how exciting that can be!

I read somewhere to leave them in approx. 24 hours to dry and build up their strength. I didn't leave mine in quite that long. As soon as it's dry and up walking around good it will probably be okay to take it out, especially if it's as warm where you are as it is here! It takes it a little while, though.

Thats definately NOT partridge!!! I wonder if hubby mixed up the markings???? The cuckoo pen is next to the partridge. It could be cuckoo???? You will have to let me know how it feathers out. ITS A MYSTERY!
